In the instant:It is more than doubtful whether the advantages of scientific progress are not counter-balanced by the evil that it does .In particular,scientific research as applied to mechanical invention is fast becoming a menace to the world .We travel at continually increasing speed in our train s,motors and airplanes;yet,on the roads alone ,the number of people killed in the all continent is quit alarming in the olding days and the mordern time.Let look at the olding days i am an african but it burful me,we look at the british soldiers killed in the whole of the boer war.Infact science has enable us to manufacture engines of destructions for use in the war-tanks,submarines,high explosive,poison gas and atomic bombs-whinh are so decastatingly effective that very little of uor civilization is likely to survive if another war between the big powers were to break out.Thanks liadi
true science has made weapons of terrible destruction, but it has also made medicine to cure illnesses that were once fatal. we no longer have to worry about being wiped out by a plague. as for autos it is true that many people die in accidents, but in most cases it is due to either recklessness or factors beyond our control. plus science is continually making vehicles safer and more reliable. so no, I don’t think science is the menance. it’s humans. they’re the ones who abuse the power the science has brought.
