Alarm Antenna
help with radio ?
I just bought a Alarm Clock Radio. It has am/ fm radio. It has the tuner scale where you have to turn it to find your radio station. It has a wire on the back, i’m assuming that’s the antenna. I can’t find my favorite AM radio station, it just skips over it. I tried it in different rooms, near windows, it’s all the same. Are all The Alarm clock radios like this? weak signal?
Your favorite station is being overshadowed by other stations near them on the dial, but with stronger signals (or located geographically closer to you). You might want to return the new radio and get one with digital tuning – where you actually see a numerical read-out of the station’s frequency. Then you can go to exactly where your favorite station is located on the dial.
The wire on the back of your set is indeed an antenna – but it is probably only for the FM stations. It wouldn’t hurt (and might help) to attach more wire to it. Maybe even hang it out a window to improve your reception.
If you’ve got the money, I have an interesting device that I bought years ago that really boosts the antenna power of your AM radio. It’s a big, round plastic device called a “Select-A-Tenna.” You put it next to your radio and – wow! What a difference. this would also be a good device for those kids who have written in about bad reception on Radio Disney. You can reach them at www.selectatenna.com/

Lexus is 250 Awd Sedan Standard Features
At a base price of $34,285, the IS 250 is a performance-oriented small luxury sedan as opposed to its Lexus sibling, the IS 350, which is a bit larger and all about comfort and luxury.
It is powered by a V6 2.5L gas engine with double overhead cam (DOHC). It has 24 variable timing valves which help deliver 204 hp @ 6400 rpm and 185 ft-lbs. at 4800 rpm using premium unleaded fuel.
This uses a 6-speed shiftable automatic all wheel drive transmission along with a mechanical center differential. It has four-wheel independent suspension, double wishbone front suspension, front and rear stabilizer bar and multi-link rear suspension. It also has a trip computer tachometer, and a clock showing external temperature. A compass does the low fuel level warning.
Exterior features include 17 x 8 in. alloy wheels, all season 225/45R17 V tires with steel spare wheel and temporary spare tire, inside mounted spare tire, variable intermittent wipers, and power glass sunroof while a rear defogger is also available.
