Alarm Sound
My 98 Maxima was broken through side window and my alarm did not sound. needs to be enabled? Or its not there?
Someone broke into my 98 Maxima through side window right in front of my apartment. We didn’t hear The Alarm sound. Does Maxima come with these kind of alarms or does it need to be turned on?
the alarm that a 1998 nissan maxima has (if equipped) is activated / deactivated upon locking / unlocking the vehicle either by turning the key in the ignition or using the keyless entry.
the alarm will sound when a door is opened after vehicle has been armed (locked). so, if the person who broke intop car did not reach in and unlock the door and then open it, your alarm will not sound.
*side note: when the alarm is activated, it cuts the ignition so the vehicle can not be started. to reset the ignition, you must turn the key in one of the doors or use the keyless remote to unlock the vehicle.
