Motion Alarm Clock

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on eliminating whining for a 8 week old puppy when crated.?

I have had her for a short period of time and her previous owner kept her and her littermates and their mom locked in the bathroom when she worked long hrs. I purchased a crate for training and she yells all night long so I purchased a bassinett with a vibrating motion and night light and she still whines. I even let the older dog sleep in there with here and she stilll whines. I have also tried the ticking alarm clock and it still doesnt soothe her. The only thing that does is her sleeping with me or the kids but I dont want to have her anxiety issues get worse nor do I want to encourage this behavoir because she is little and my kids sleep WILD!!!
PS I give her a treat and her toys in the crate everytime I put her in there and I keep the TV and a night lite on in the room with her so the quiet wont scare her.

I crate-trained my dog by using the command “Kennel”, followed by a treat when he went in. I don’t suggest using a night-light or keeping the tv on – they are just distractions from sleeping, as they would be for you. If you haven’t already, try putting a blanket in the crate for her to lie on, and another blanket over the crate, so that it seems more like a safe den. Whatever you do, do NOT respond when she whines – it simply reinforces the idea that whining will get the response she wants.

You may also want to try keeping the crate in a central area and allowing her to stay in it for a half hour or so at a time while you are around. Feed her in her crate, etc. Make the crate somewhere she feels safe and happy and she will quickly learn to stay quiet.
