home security SYSTEMS?
ok,i have a dilemma ,which is better wired Home Alarm sys or wireless,iv been quoted 165 for two motion sensors plus Alarm Box and keypad all installed or wireless for 399 same kit only alarm box is solar.wiv wired i assume you just hook up to electric and no more worries and ireless i guess i wud have to change batt every 3-6mnths,. WHICH IS BETTER WIRED OR WIRELESS and what brand,i have in mind (5 star alarm for wired) and micromark or yale for wireless
Wireless Alarm systems are now just as reliable as hard wired systems. It used to be that wireless systems were subject to interference from outside sources, but now, with advanced technology, they use unique frequencies to avoid this. Your wireless system (box) will have to be connected to an electrical outlet, but will have a back-up battery. Most wireless sensors now use lithium batteries, which last 7-10 years. Below is a link to an article comparing hardwired vs. wireless systems. Good luck!

Home Alarms Promoting Home Security
Nothing to be alarmed about, since it has been such a wonderful day. Little do you know, as you are on your way home, that it is all going to change in a hearbeat.
You should have installed a home alarm when you were thinking about it. As a matter of fact, you looked at a home alarm kit when you were shopping today. Maybe later. Now it may be too late.
Arriving home, pulling into your driveway and it seems something is out of kilter. An odd feeling. Feelings cannot lie. Approaching your door, you notice the lock and door handle have been jimmied and your door is slightly ajar. OhmyGod. No.
Your heart seems like it is up in your throat, beating so hard you can hear it slam against your eardrums. The queasiness in your gut practically brings you to your knees. Your vision is going in and out of focus. Your head starts spinning and you cannot decide what to do…go in the house or leave and call the police.
Life as you knew it a minute ago is upside down. Confused. Terrified. Invaded. Violated. As your senses slowly come back, you wonder how this could have happened to you and not somebody else. That is the way it usually occurs. Thank God the kids were not home.
This has been a scenario we imagine has happened to many homeowners in the past and is probably happening to somebody as you read this article.
A burglary occurs every 14.7 seconds according to studies…and a larceny/theft, about every 4.5 seconds. In this current economy the crime rates always go up. Perhaps it could get even worse. No sense in taking a chance.
In response to an earlier statement…NO, it is NOT too late to take precautions by installing a home alarm or protective device on your property to prevent this happening to you…again.
Security is a thought that enters the mind of everyone occasionally…a thought that is overcome by other things, and soon forgotten. Homeowners seem not to bother with security issues until something happens. Hey, if it ain’t broken, why fix it. Hopefully this article gives a perspective of the importance of security and the protection of your property and your loved ones.
