How to add window sensors to Home Alarm?
The people at ADT always say how it costs hundreds to add window contacts to an Alarm System. Seeing how window sensors cost less than $20, I wonder how hard it is to buy some window contacts and add them to my Honeywell Alarm system? My current system is wireless, so I assume I need to find wireless window contacts. I am not sure how to go about getting the system to recognize them.
Basically you do not have to explain how it is done, but is it possible for us to do it ourselves without shelling over hundreds of dollars to ADT techs? Thanks.
Yeah my system is wireless so that is not necessary. I did more research just now and assume if I get a honeywell wireless window contact and make sure it works with my model, I can just install it on the window and it will automatically be detected?
They have to be hard wired to the main harness or security panel where all your wires come together. You can also switch to a wireless system but can not combine the two.
