dodge stratus sedan 2000 bypass?
i own a dodge stratus sedan 2000, i installed an Alarm System with remote start. im good with car electronics so it took me like an hour (im not a pro) to install The Alarm without the remote start because i don’t know if my car needs a bypass module?? i don’t see no anti theft light at the dashboard nor the key has a chip. the key that i use is just like a normal key. do i need a bypass module? if yes, which one? thanks in advance
well yeah i have 2 keys, one has a black plastic and the other one doesn’t have plastic (all metal) both keys work.
It doesn’t sound like you have an anti-theft system that requires a bypass. Chrysler vehicles with transponder keys use a gray key. Black keys don’t have the transponder. (This doesn’t hold true for the newer Chrysler keys with built-in remote buttons). Also, if you can start the vehicle with an all-metal key, it definitely doesn’t have a transponder system.

DIY Security Car System
They say the best way to get something done is by doing it yourself. There are various ways of installing a vehicle security system or a car alarm without the assistance of a mechanic or a professional in that field. It is very simple so anyone can do it without much of complications and one could end up saving quite a pretty penny. There are a few things required and these include a knife, a pair of scissors, soldering material, drills, soldering gun, crimps, test light, screw bits and tie wrap, screws, a voltage meter and a double sided mounting tape.
The first step after getting the equipment and making sure they are all there is to have the installation handbook. Every gadget comes with a manual. Read the manual as many times as possible to understand. If purchase of the alarm is made at the automotive store, it is advisable to ask a few questions because they will get you started. The next step is to contact the alarm manufacturer and get directives in accordance to the car one owns. The appropriate question to ask is if the locking system is best for your car and the most appropriate color wire to attach to so as to border the lock feature of the alarm.
It is vital to ask the manufacturer or the person advising, how one should hook up to the relay and this is for the door lock. You should also find out the color wire attached for the starter disable feature. The information about how to connect up the relay, how to have contact with the factory door triggers and setting the voltmeter to check the door bolt wires is also important. After getting all these details, one should follow the instructions to the later. Every step should be made in reference to the installation guidebook.
You should raise the Alarm Bell to a hard metal surface beneath the hood. Pointing the siren down helps it not to accumulate moisture. Next bore a hole through the rubber grommet and put the wire into the commuter compartment. The sirens need power from the battery of the car. A fuse should be put on the circuit wire near the battery. The shocks sensor should be mounted. A hole should be drilled in the dashboard and the LED condition indicator should be placed. The LED’s wire should be feed through the hole and should be placed to the flip side of the two sided mounting tape.
Then the lock wires should be connected to the door bolt relay. The consideration light wire should be connected to the existing sensing line. The next step is the connection of the starter immobilizing wire to the dispatch from the alarm. Connection of every the wires properly is vital. You should escalate the module properly to a surface and this is beneath the dash. You should use the drill, screws and screw bits. Arming the alarm in addition to testing the performance is the last step of the process.
