How can you tell what car Alarm System you have?
i have a 93 honda del sol and i’ve been looking for the car alarm unit but i can’t find it anywhere. it’s aftermarket so i have no clue where that would be installed at. where could it be located? there’s a little antenna thing that sticks to the corner of the windshield and it’s brand is “directed” but i don’t wanna just go off of that. i’d like to find the main unit to make sure what brand and model it is so i can buy a keyless entry remote.
do universal keyless entry remotes work? or do i need to buy one that came with my car alarm?
It has to be above the brake pedal thats where all the wire hook ups are. Should be a little box zip tied or something, above brake pedal that looks not factory. I have found a web site that sells replacement remotes for just about anything automotive online, get the make and model and serial number off of module and order a new remote or just replace the entire system and save the trouble.
