SOS!!! 12th std electronics project?
I have chosen ‘infrared burglar alarm’ as my project. The kit contains circuit diagram and some description but i have to submit a 12 page written project. What do i write? Are there any websites that may help?
There is a lot to write, but you have chosen a simple device.
You might consider the following:
1. Obviously, describe the project schematics and how the system works. Go stage by stage in your description.
2. Discuss the working of each component. Tell how is relates electronically to the circuit (group components together- use one resistor, capacitor, etc. and not retell about resistors over and over).
3. Describe infrared and why it is used (so the burglar cannot easily see the beam).
4. Talk about the detector and how it receives the infrared and converts it into an electronic signal. Talk about the IR filter and how it blocks the other light sources to prevent false alarms.
5. Talk about possible problems with the device, i.e. dirt, mice, blown paper and trash, etc. that could set off The Alarm.
6. Show what would happen with component failure, power loss and re-establishment (what happens when the power goes off and then back on, as with the power company).
7. Talk about ways to expand the circuit, build in a battery backup, connecting to a phone line or cell circuit, how to better shape the beam, how to improve the sensitivity of the receiver circuit. There are always lots of ways to improve things.
I hope this gives you some ideas. Do the thinking yourself and not look for a website other than for help with component data sheets.
You might include, at the end of your report, but not as part of the 12 pages, data shees on the critical active components (transistors, ics, etc.). They are easily downloaded.
