How can I trigger an alarm whenever my WAN link goes down, with out using hifi NMS ?
Basically I am looking for some freeware that can work on windows preferably (else linux).
I have the access to WAN router whose serial interface status I want to monitor.
I can configure this router for sending trap through fast ethernet to any machine on my n/w (whenever serial i/f goes down). Though I have fluke optiview it is having trap response of email/pager notification,,,but it can’t trigger any local alarm that would get attention and calls for action.
the one below is free, runs on windows, and can be configured to run an external program when a specific trap is received. so you can set it up to run a sound file or something when that specific trap is received.
