Listen.Child your alarm clock sounds. You roll around. You fall out of bed with a thud. The clothes hug your body. Crunch,crunch go the frosted flakes in your mouth.

I awake
bringg a sharp alarm
right on time like a charm
groggy senses not intune
I’ll wake up in the afternoon
breakfast the tasteless flakes
scrape mouth like a rakes
drink the milk, wow that’s cold!
open my lunch-the bag, it’s groing mold
yesterdays lunch smells real bad
Oh I wonder what I had
pull on some clothes scratchy and tight
heave up my backpack with all my might
run outside the air is freezing
run to school coughing and wheezing
go through the first classes
boring notebooks boring hall passes
at lunch the sandwich is OK
but it still smells like pickles from yesterday
go to class what a bore
I sit in the back and start to snore
the end of the day has finally come
I am tired, my brain is numb
As I walk home from school I look around
light flakes of snow fall to the ground
a cold little sliver on my cheek
better hurry home it’s turning into sleet
get home at last, flop on my bed
homework to do, homework I dread
the smooth pencil in my hand
trying to recall about Custer’s last stand
When I am done I turn on the TV
nothing but news and politics to see
fall asleep on the couch
wake up, sore bones, feel like a grouch
eat my dinner, it is kind of sour
I think mom put in way too much flour
flop down on my bed
in the morning I’ll wish I was dead
